Non Ejection Systolic Click

Mitral valve prolapse causes a mid to late systolic (non ejection) click, best heard at the APEX to LLSB. The click occurs later (moves closer to S2) in squatting position and earlier (moves closer to S1) in the standing position.

S3 Gallop

S3 is best heard with the bell at the APEX to LLSB.  An intermittent S3 can be a normal finding in children and adolescents.
