Pearl #1 is about S1

S1 splitting is best heard at the LLSB and is sometimes confused with an early systolic ejection click which can usually be heard well at the APEX, especially in the sitting position!

S3 Gallop

S3 is best heard with the bell at the APEX to LLSB.  An intermittent S3 can be a normal finding in children and adolescents.
